Abstract
⺠Expected effects of disturbance on disease depend upon host and pathogen ecology. ⺠We examined effects of wildfire and host behavior on infection by an amphibian pathogen. ⺠Use of terrestrial habitats and recently burned forest reduced probability of infection. ⺠Conditions in burned forests may limit pathogen growth and increase host immunity. ⺠Natural disturbances can modify host-pathogen interactions and may facilitate resistance.
