Abstract
⺠We use species distribution models at fine scale to assess the potential area of occupancy of a threatened species. ⺠We evaluate the effect of sampling effort and the implications for conservation. ⺠Models were not influenced by sampling, and model-based estimates were more accurate than traditional coarse-scale grids. ⺠Potential area of occupancy obtained from fine-scale models provide robust tools for red listing and habitat management.
