Abstract
⺠We assessed the genetic diversity of a recent colonization. ⺠Genetic diversity remained reduced in the founding population within a few generations. ⺠Founding population was genetically differentiated from the source population. ⺠Individuals from the founding population dispersed back to the source population. ⺠Territoriality and longevity likely increased the strength of the founding event.
