Abstract
⺠Plant oxygen transfer and oxygen consumption in subsurface flow treatment wetlands is reviewed. ⺠The methods for estimating oxygen consumption in treatment wetlands are reviewed. ⺠First results from a comparison of 15 individual wetland treatment systems are presented. ⺠A volumetric approach is suggested to compare passive and intensified treatment wetland systems.
