Bacterial communities within the rhizosphere and roots of vetiver (Chrysopogon zizanioides (L.) Roberty) sampled at different growth stages

► Bacterial communities associated with vetiver RAROS genotype were evaluated by molecular methods. ► The predominant bacterial community varied depending on plant age and origin. ► The most dominant group associated with vetiver was affiliated with Gammaproteobacteria. ► The diazotrophic population was more influenced by root exudates than the total bacterial community. ► The Alphaproteobacteria class was dominant among the nifH-harboring population.
