Abstract
► Soil temperature is decisive factor of soil CO2 efflux in semiarid forest-steppe. ► Clear thresholds of moisture effects on temperature sensitivity were identified. ► The best model was the Gaussian temperature function with interactive moisture effect. ► High impact of model selection on calculated efflux was at moisture extremities.
