Abstract
Genome sequencing on cephalopods - that possess the biggest genome among molluscs - appears crucial for comparative genomics in lophotrochozoan lineages. As S. officinalis is an ideally suitable eco-evo-devo model, we propose its genome sequencing as a priority.
