Abstract
► Sandstone slabs were used to create rockpools and other intertidal habitats. ► Temperatures, moisture, water-flow and biofilms were measured. ► Rockpools were cooler and water flow was less than in other habitats. ► Amounts of moisture and biofilms were greater around rockpools than elsewhere. ► Influences of micro-habitats may extend beyond the vicinity of the micro-habitat.
