Abstract
► Study aims to assess the survival of native A. parthenogenetica and A. franciscana. ► Effects of water temperature, salinity, photoperiod and food supply were studied. ► Native Artemia populations showed great variability in physiological response. ► There is an apparent adaptation of native Artemia to local conditions. ► Chemical barrier, fitness and location suggested as blocking exotic invasion.
