Abstract
► We implemented three-dimensional particle tracking techniques. ► We tested for the effect of salinity on copepod swimming behavior. ► Swimming activity was maximal at the physiologically preferred salinity. ► Results suggest a redirection of energy from swimming to osmoregulation.
