Abstract
► Mytilus chilensis, Choromytilus chorus and Aulacomya ater co-occur sympatrically. ► M. chilensis have the highest and A. ater the lowest filtration rates and gill areas. ► M.chilensis attains the highest and A. ater the lowest size-specific gut contents. ► Interspecific differences in gut contents correlates with digestive enzyme activity. ► Morpho-functional traits allow M. chilensis to be faster feeder.
