Abstract
⺠The red alga G. turuturu is a recent invader to Long Island Sound. ⺠Assemblages were compared between the native C. crispus and G. turuturu. ⺠Communities dominated by G. turuturu had less algal biomass. ⺠G. turuturu habitat greatly reduced invertebrate richness and abundance.
