Abstract
⺠Batoids turning performance by oscillation or undulation swimming was examined. ⺠Rays used either powered or unpowered turns. ⺠Unpowered turns used asymmetrical motions of the two pectoral fins to turn. ⺠Rays banked when turning. ⺠There was no difference in turning rate between the two propulsion modes.
