Abstract
⺠Haemulidae fishes have high chromosomal conservatism. ⺠Karyotype conservatism may be associated with cytogenetic analysis of low resolution. ⺠New cytogenetic approaches suggest high content syntenic evolutionarily maintained. ⺠Pre-zygotic barriers maybe ensure the genetic cohesion of these species.
