Abstract
⺠We compared growth rates of juvenile penaeids along an estuarine salinity gradient. ⺠In 2 experiments, brown shrimp and white shrimp were held for 7 days in field mesocosms. ⺠Growth rates for both species were reduced in low salinity areas. ⺠Result was likely due to higher metabolic cost and less food in low salinity habitat.
