Abstract
⺠Biparental care might result from similar sex-specific reproductive investment. ⺠Plasma CK reflects sex-specific reproductive investment during early breeding. ⺠Female costs of clutch production were associated with post-laying levels of CK. ⺠Sex-specific CK trends suggested analogous sex-specific initial investment.
