Abstract

For 16 times from the April to October 2006, surveys have been conducted on the flora of the 13 forest regions in Chungcheong-do, which were Jagseongsan · Dongsan, Budaesan, Bonghwangsan, Shinseongbong, Songnisan, Cheontaesan, Anmyeondo, Geumgangsan, Palbongsan, Dogosan, Gaejuksan, Museongsan and Jinagsan. The voucher specimens of the flora were classified into 108 families, 393 genera, 643 species, 4 subspecies, 80 varieties, 13 forms, and 1 hybrid, total 741 taxa. Total 9,019 vouchers were deposited in the Korea National Herbarium (KH). Noteworthy taxa included 22 Korean endemic species such as Gasarum patens (K. Yamaki) B.U. Oh, Asarum koreanum (J.G. Kim & C.S. Yook) B.U. Oh, Asarum glabrata (C.S. Yook, J.G. Kim) B.U. Oh, Polygonatum infundiflorum Y.S. Kim, B.U. Oh & C.G. Jang, Iris rossii var. latifolia J.K. Sim & Y.S. Kim, Thalictrum uchiyamai Nakaia, Chrysosplenium pilosum var. fulvum (N. Terracc.) Hara, Philadelphus schrenckii Rupr., Euonymus trapococca Nakai, Forsythia koreana (Rehder) Nakai, Abeliophyllum distichum Nakai, Ajuga spectabilis Nakai, Salvia chanryonica Thunb., Paulownia coreana Uyeki, Galium koreanum (Nakai) Nakai, Weigela subsessilis (Nakai) L.H. Bailey, Saussurea macrolepis (Nakai) Kitam., Fallopia koreana B.U. Oh & J.G. Kim, Elsholtzia angustifolia (Loes.) Kitag., Heloniopsis tubifolia Fuse, N.S. Lee & M.N. Tamura, Goodyera coreana S.N. Kim, 15 rare plants such as Crypsinus hastatus (Thunb.) Copel., Arisaema heterophyllum Blume, Tricyrtis macropoda Miq., Lilium distichum Nakai ex Kamibay, Iris ensata var. spontanea (Makino) Nakai, Galeola septentrionalis Rchb.f., Gastrodia elata Blume, Calanthe discolor Lindl., Paeonia japonica (Makino) Miyabe & Takeda, Rodgersia podophylla A. Gray, Berchemia berchemiaefolia (Makino) Koidz., Viola albida Palib., Rhododendron micranthum Turcz., Abeliophyllum distichum Nakai, Scopolia japonica Maxim. and other taxa including Cephalanthera erecta which were significant for their distribution.
