Abstract
⺠The role of nutrient availability and translocation in fungal combat is modelled. ⺠Resource availability has a decisive factor in combat outcomes. ⺠Specialized defensive structures are formed through changes in translocation rates. ⺠Non-transitive hierarchies in fungi arise through variations in translocation rates.
