Abstract
► The objective was to identify stable shoot fly resistant genotypes among RILs of 27 B × IS 2122. ► Non-significant G × E, significant pooled deviation indicated unpredictable genotype performance. ► 5 lines had low deadheart percentage with regression close to unity showing stable resistance. ► AMMI analysis indicated that environment had the greatest effect (69.2%) followed by G × E (24.6%). ► Transgressive variation was observed for traits indicating both parents have contributed alleles.
