Abstract
► Lentil crops in western Canada mature in cool wet conditions, delaying maturity. ► Nitrogen fixation in indeterminate lentil could further delay maturity. ► Earliness can be achieved by nitrogen fertility management and cultivar choice. ► Growing an early or medium maturity lentil cultivar was likely to produce earliness. ► Switching from fixation to nitrogen fertilizer did not enhance earliness.
