Abstract
âºâ2062 plant species (10% of SA's flora) are used for traditional medicine. ⺠32% of the species were recorded in traditional medicine markets. ⺠4% of medicinal species threatened (incl. 14 Critically Endangered species) according the 2009 IUCN Red List evaluation of SA flora ⺠88% of species Least Concern ⺠2.6% at risk of extinction if current harvesting trends continue.
