Abstract
⺠A fully resolved phylogenetic hypothesis found Pentatrichia species and subspecies to be reciprocally monophyletic. ⺠Sister relationship between P. rehmii subsp. avasmontana and P. rehmii subsp. rehmii confirmed the results of a previous study. ⺠Anisothrix synonymised with Pentatrichia and two new combinations made. ⺠A key to expanded morphological concept of Pentatrichia was constructed.
