Abstract
⺠Scented flowers of dwarf grassland species of Protea may be adapted for insect pollination. ⺠Vertebrate exclusion did not lower seed set. ⺠These species experience high levels of self-fertilization. ⺠Supplemental hand-pollination treatments revealed resource-limitation in two species. ⺠Molecular markers are required to establish the actual level of insect-mediated outcrossing.
