Abstract
⺠Malondialdehyde content decreased in young leaves, new stems and fine roots. ⺠Young organs are protected preferentially from the drought-induced oxidative stress. ⺠Solute response to repeated dehydration and rehydration differed in different organs. ⺠Both the variation magnitude and the type of solutes involved varied with organs. ⺠It is the cooperation of all organs that improves the whole-plant drought tolerance.
