Abstract
•Discussing about the genus Aegosoma with current knowledge of known species•Separated the species of the genus into five groups•Described a new species from Vietnam, proposed a key to species level•Proposed relationship theory of groups in the genus based on their distribution
The genus Aegosoma Audinet-Serville, 1832, is reviewed. The subspecies A. sinica legrandi is moved to the reconfirmed valid species A. hainanensis; a new species of the genus from South Vietnam is described; and an identification key for all known members is presented.
