Abstract
•Four new species of cicada from Papua New Guinea are described as new to science.•Diceropyga duffelsi sp. n. is described.•Lembeja gulfensis sp. n. is described.•Gymnotympana boeri sp. n. is described.•Gymnotympana leucogramma sp. n. is described.
Four species of cicadas are described as new: Diceropyga duffelsisp. nov. (Cicadinae, Dundubiini, Cosmopsaltriina), Lembeja gulfensissp. nov. (Cicadettinae, Prasiini), Gymnotympana boerisp. nov. and Gymnotympana leucogrammasp. nov. (Cicadettinae, Chlorocystini). The species are illustrated and distinguished from known species in their respective genera.
