Abstract
► We observe mycangial microstructure of the ambrosia beetle, Platypus koryoensis. ► Thoracic mycangia have highly adapted substructure for carrying microorganisms. ► Other types of cuticular depressions and their possible roles are examined. ► Cuticular pores and its relationship to transmit pathogenic fungi are discussed.
