Production of Aujeszky's disease (pseudorabies) virus envelope glycoproteins gB and gC as recombinant polyhedra in baculovirus-infected silkworm larvae

► Pseudorabies virus (PRV) glycoproteins gB and gC were expressed in silkworm larvae. ► PRV gB and gC were produced as recombinant polyhedra in silkworm larvae. ► Recombinant polyhedra contained PRV gB or gC. ► PRV gB and gC from recombinant polyhedra bind to anti-PRV gB and gC antibodies. ► The yield of PRV gB and gC was 0.69 and 0.46 mg, respectively, per silkworm larva.
