Abstract
A new species of Aphelenchidae, which was associated with the bark beetle, Scolytus seulensis Murayama, was discovered on a peach tree in Cheongdo, Gyeongbuk, Korea, in 2004. Male specimens of Parasitaphelenchus gyeongbukensis n. sp. possess two pairs of post-anal caudal papillae, approximately one-fourth to one-third of a tail length anterior to the tail terminus; one pair is located ventrally to the end of the lateral lines, and the other pair is slightly more ventral and posteriorly positioned. Bursa-like structures were present at the tail terminal, as evidenced on SEM.
