Abstract
⺠Identification protocol for commercially caught 12 cutlassfishes was developed. ⺠Protocol found segments of mitochondrial DNA as species-specific standard barcode. ⺠The barcode is effective for identifying both fresh samples and processed products. ⺠The method suggests a diagnostic key which also signify phylogenetic relationships. ⺠The method is descent in fishery management and governmental scrutiny of products.
