Abstract
ⶠGrazer ingestion rates in all diet treatments were <1-2% body C dâ1. ⶠRates of nutrient release, when detected, were >100% of C, N, and P ingested. ⶠStarvation likely caused nutrient release rates to be higher than ingestion rates. ⶠQuantity and forms of nutrients released varied between non-toxic and toxic algal treatments. ⶠTypically, higher grazer DOM release occurred while feeding on toxic algal cultures.
