Abstract
► The hyperaccumulator Stanleya pinnata accumulated 150 μg selenium (Se) mL−1 in nectar and 12900 μg Se g−1 in pollen. ► The accumulator Brassica juncea contained much less Se in floral tissues. ► High Se concentrations can alter floral traits in B. juncea, whereas S. pinnata was unaffected. ► Our study advances the current understanding of phytoremediators and the potential consequences for ecological interactions.
