Abstract
- High C2H4 and CO2 concentrations were found in hermetically (H)-closed bottles.
- The H-closure increased shoot weight and proliferation with respect to cotton and PVC.
- AVG addition to the proliferation medium reduced shoot elongation.
- Root development was improved in shoots from the PVC-sealing/AVG combination.
- These effects seemed mainly ascribable to C2H4
