Abstract
⺠Iron deficiency increased HA1, FRO2 and IRT1 gene expression in both CM and CC roots. ⺠IRT1 and IRT2 activities were higher in CC than in CM iron deficient roots. ⺠Enzyme activities and 57Fe root uptake rates confirmed genetic study. ⺠CM genotype accumulated a much larger pool of iron than CC in their root apoplast. ⺠FRO2 transcripts level and Fe3+ reducing activity determine Citrus iron tolerance.
