Abstract
⺠“Flavor Fall” plums are prone to shrivel and irradiation worsened this problem. ⺠Fruit in the insect-proof bag that was treated with 900 Gy had very high levels of gel breakdown. ⺠Research into different forms of packaging might relieve the shrivel and gel breakdown problems. ⺠All other fruit quality parameters evaluated were not detrimentally affected by irradiation.
