Abstract
► GC-MS analysis of root samples detected 20 identified compounds. ► Significant higher antioxidant phytochemicals and activity observed in root parts. ► Strong antioxidant activity was exhibited in essential oil than methanolic extract. ► HPLC analysis showed phenolic compounds are influenced by growing source conditions. ► Recovery of antioxidant phytochemicals and activity was more in oven dried samples.
