► A single high temperature interruption for 6 days reduces inflorescence production.► High temperature interruption for 3 days or less does not inhibit inflorescence.► High temperature interruption of 12 days or more reduce flowers per inflorescence. ► Higher levels of Arginine occurred in uninterrupted controls.
