Abstract
ⶠSomatic hybridization in potato using mesophyll protoplasts is still challenging. ⶠStoloniferous shoot protoplasts represent an ideal cell system in potato. ⶠThey are easy to isolate from stoloniferous shoots induced in vitro. ⶠThis highly morphogenic cell system can be used for somatic hybridization. ⶠIt may also be an ideal transient expression system for fundamental studies.
