Abstract
⺠The effect of correcting for the endogeneity in contingent valuation studies is investigated. ⺠Focus is on a variable indicating membership status in environmental organizations. ⺠Jointly modeling membership and willingness to pay yields negative estimate of membership effect. ⺠Our results contradict previous findings but agree with theoretical expectations.
