Abstract
⺠We study preferences for effort-sharing rules for global carbon abatement. ⺠We find no evidence of ingroup bias in preferences for effort-sharing rules. ⺠People prefer the rule where all countries are allowed equal per capita emissions. ⺠The least preferred rule is reduction proportional to historical emissions.
