Abstract
⺠We conduct a choice experiment for energy retrofits for existing houses in Germany. ⺠We explicitly include both cost and environmental benefits of energy-saving measures. ⺠We find environmental benefits to have a significant impact on choices of heatings. ⺠However, they play no role in terms of insulation choices. ⺠We further obtain WTP measures for CO2 savings.
