Abstract
⺠We examine whether economic conditions affect voting on environmental legislation. ⺠Congressional support for the environment is reflected by members' LCV scores. ⺠From 1970 through 2008 LCV scores in the House/Senate rose with per capita income. ⺠Political responses to economic conditions varied by party.
