Abstract
⺠In 1835, E. Mallet published a today nearly forgotten study of the mean height of Genevan conscripts. ⺠It is the third auxological study based on a large sample of individual conscript data. ⺠Urban/rural and international differences are strictly explained by environment and economy. ⺠Dealt with important methodological questions (e.g., distribution, minimal height requirements).
