Abstract
To achieve high performance protonic ceramic fuel cells (PCFCs), novel Sm0.5Sr0.5CoO3âδ (SSC) infiltrated Ce0.9Gd0.1O2âδ (GDC) composite cathodes are studied. Although the SSC infiltrated GDC cathodes make little contribute to expending the reaction sites of water formation, it can significantly promote the oxygen reduction process, and thus improving the electrocatalytic kinetics. The symmetric cell and single cell testing results indicate the high electrochemical activity of SSC infiltrated GDC cathodes.161
