Abstract
The reaction between CuCl2 and the Hfta (2-furoyltrifluoroacetone) in presence of sodium methoxide leads to the new hexanuclear compound [Cu(OMe)(fta)]6. This compound crystallizes in a rare step-by-step framework, in which the metal ions lie on two different coordination environments: square-planar and square-pyramidal. The magnetic properties revealed strong antiferromagnetic interactions involving the copper(II) ions.156
