Abstract
Synthesis, spectroscopic and photopysical properties of 5-(diethylamino)-4-(4-nitrophenyl)diazenyl-2-(1,3-benzoxazol-2-yl)phenol and its zinc complex were examined. The ligand molecule acts as a multipolar chromophore in dependence of hydrogenionic concentration and as mononegative ligand for zinc(II) ion. The solvatochromic blue shift, shown by the ligand, is widely influenced by electronic pattern. DFT calculations have also been performed.135
