Abstract
A hemiacetal and aldehyde bound diiron(III) complex 1 with two different coordination numbers supported by a tetradentate sterically constrained N2O2 donor H2L ligand (H2LÂ =Â N,N-bis-(3,5-diisopropyl-2-hydroxybenzyl)-Nâ²,Nâ²-diisopropylethylenediamine) has been synthesized and structurally characterized. The hemiacetal and aldehyde ligands of this complex have been generated by oxidative cleavage of carbonnitrogen single bond of the supporting ligand.133
