Abstract
A new soluble n-type phthalocyanine semiconductor (1) is successfully synthesized by introducing four electron-withdrawing trifluoroethoxy substituents at the periphery of the phthalocyanine ring for optimizing molecular energy level. Highly sensitive, stable and reproducible responses to NO2 in 100-500Â ppb range are observed for the solution-based QLS film of 1 at room temperature, depending on highly ordered film-structure, good crystallinity and conductivity of the QLS film of 1.210
