Engineering solid-state porosity of synthetic supercontainers via modification of exo-cavities

Two new coordination supercontainers with deeper π-rich exo-cavities have been successfully synthesized. The solid-state porosity is successfully modulated by incorporating extended phenyl groups at the upper rim, giving rise to excellent gas/vapor adsorption capacity and N2/CO2 and O2/CO2 gas separation.221
