Abstract
- Different fungal strains were identified from the farmed giant tiger shrimp Penaeus monodon in Madagascar fisheries.
- The shrimp-sourced Aspergillus niger strain occurred to have differential metabolism depending on culture media.
- The shrimp extract medium did not enhance the major metabolites but sterigmatocystin could be annotated in this medium.
- The well-studied Aspergillus niger still presents unreported compounds that would need further investigation.
